Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey Use a lean variety for healthier meatballs.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg Bind the ingredients together.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped For flavor and aroma.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

For the Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain Greek yogurt for richness.
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated and drained Make sure to drain well to prevent excess water.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced For added flavor.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed is best.
  • to taste Salt Season according to preference.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Cooking

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Tzatziki Preparation

  • Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki by mixing the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs with the tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

Make sure to drain the cucumber well before adding it to the tzatziki. Use fresh herbs instead of dried for more flavor. Add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
